Go Get It!

You can experience all the joy and passion you imagine right now, rather than waiting for a future moment.

Our time is finite and quickly consumed, making its utilization one of life’s most crucial decisions. Yet, we often postpone today’s dreams until tomorrow. Modern life’s demands offer an easy excuse: we sideline our aspirations to better manage present challenges, hoping for more time and leisure in the future to achieve our goals. Alternatively, we tell ourselves we’ll pursue our dreams after achieving lesser objectives.

In reality, fear prevents us from seeking fulfillment now. Because we see failure as a possibility, our reasons for delaying inevitable success seem logical. But if we honestly ask ourselves what we’re waiting for, we find no truly compelling reason to postpone the pursuit of our sustaining dreams.

Framed as a question, “Why not now?” drains our power to achieve ambitions. We’re so convinced we’re undeserving of happiness that we fail to see what we can do in the present to embrace it. When we decisively confront our existence and declare, “Why not now, indeed!” — we gain the power to begin transforming our lives instantly.

All the joy, passion, and contentment you envision can be yours immediately, not at some distant point. You simply need to remember that nothing stands between you and fulfillment. If you choose today to seize your destiny, you will quickly discover you hold the keys to your fate.

What is a Vision Board?

Vision Boards as an Art Therapy Tool

Art therapy is a creative method of expression used as a therapeutic technique. Among the various tools utilized in art therapy, vision boards stand out as a particularly powerful medium. A vision board is a collage of images, pictures, and affirmations of one’s dreams, goals, and desires. By engaging in the process of creating a vision board, individuals can unlock a range of psychological benefits, making it a valuable tool in art therapy.

 What is a Vision Board?

A vision board, also known as a dream board, is a visual representation of one’s aspirations and goals. It typically involves cutting out pictures and words from magazines or printing images that resonate with one’s desires and pasting them onto a board. The finished product serves as a visual reminder and motivation for achieving these goals.

The Therapeutic Process

The process of creating a vision board can be therapeutic in itself. Here’s how it helps:

1. Self-Reflection and Awareness: Selecting images and words for a vision board requires introspection. Individuals must think deeply about what they truly want in life. This reflection fosters self-awareness and helps in identifying personal values and priorities.

2. Goal Setting and Focus: Vision boards help clarify and concentrate one’s goals. By visually depicting their aspirations, individuals can focus more clearly on what they want to achieve. This focus can reduce anxiety and provide a sense of direction.

3. Emotional Expression: Art therapy often aims to help individuals express emotions that are difficult to verbalize. Through the selection of images and colors, individuals can convey feelings and thoughts, facilitating emotional release and understanding.

4. Stress Reduction: The act of creating art is inherently relaxing. The tactile experience of cutting, pasting, and arranging images can reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. Engaging in a creative activity can serve as a form of mindfulness, helping individuals stay present and engaged.

5. Empowerment and Motivation: Seeing one’s goals and dreams laid out visually can be incredibly empowering. Vision boards act as a constant reminder of one’s potential and the steps needed to achieve desired outcomes. This visual reinforcement can boost motivation and encourage positive thinking.

6. Symbolic Thinking: Vision boards can help individuals think in symbols and metaphors, which can be a powerful way to process and understand complex emotions and situations. This symbolic thinking can lead to new insights and perspectives.

Applications in Art Therapy

Vision boards can be integrated into various therapeutic settings, from individual therapy sessions to group workshops. Here are some ways they can be used:

– Individual Therapy: Therapists can guide clients through the process of creating a vision board, helping them explore personal goals and emotions. This can be particularly useful for clients dealing with issues like depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

– Group Therapy: In group settings, creating vision boards can foster a sense of community and shared purpose. Participants can share their boards and discuss their aspirations, leading to mutual support and understanding.

– Workshops and Retreats: Vision board workshops can be part of wellness retreats or personal development rituals. These sessions can provide a structured environment for individuals to focus on their goals and well-being.

Conclusion

Vision boards are more than just a creative exercise; they are a powerful tool in art therapy. By facilitating self-reflection, goal setting, emotional expression, and stress reduction, vision boards can help individuals navigate their inner world and work towards their dreams. Whether used in individual therapy, group sessions, or personal development, vision boards offer a versatile and effective means of fostering mental and emotional well-being.

Rejuvenate Your Space

Rejuvenate Your Space: The Transformative Benefits of a Room Redesign

“The space in which we live should be for the person we are becoming now—not for the person we were in the past,” notes decluttering expert Marie Kondo.

A room redesign is more than just an aesthetic upgrade; it’s an opportunity to rejuvenate your living space, enhance your quality of life, and express your personal style. Whether you’re moving into a new home or seeking to refresh your current abode, the benefits of a room redesign are numerous and impactful. Let’s explore how this transformative process can elevate your environment and well-being.

1. Boosts Mood and Productivity

Your surroundings have a profound effect on your mood and productivity. A thoughtfully redesigned room can create a serene and inspiring atmosphere. Incorporating elements such as natural light, ergonomic furniture, and soothing colors can help reduce stress and increase focus. Imagine working in a home office with ample daylight and an organized layout—your efficiency and creativity are bound to flourish.

2. Maximizes Space and Functionality

A well-planned redesign can optimize the layout and use of space, making even the smallest rooms feel spacious and functional. By rethinking the placement of furniture and adding smart storage solutions, you can transform a cluttered area into a harmonious and efficient living space. This is particularly beneficial in urban apartments where space is often at a premium.

3. Reflects Personal Style and Identity

Your home is a reflection of who you are. A redesign enables you to infuse your personality and style into your living space. Whether you prefer a minimalist aesthetic, a cozy rustic feel, or a modern chic look, redesigning a room provides a canvas to showcase your unique style. Personal touches such as artwork, textiles, and décor pieces can make your space truly your own.

4. Increases Property Value

Investing in a room redesign can significantly increase the value of your property. Potential buyers are often drawn to homes that are well-maintained and stylishly updated. Key areas like the kitchen, bathroom, and living room can yield a high return on investment when remodeled. Even simple updates like fresh paint, new fixtures, and contemporary finishes can make a big difference in market appeal.

5. Enhances Comfort and Livability

Comfort is paramount in creating a home where you love to spend time. Redesigning a room with comfortable furniture, appropriate lighting, and effective climate control can make your home more inviting and pleasant. A cozy reading nook, a luxurious bedroom retreat, or a welcoming living room can turn everyday life into a delightful experience.

6. Promotes Sustainability

A redesign offers an excellent opportunity to incorporate sustainable practices and materials into your home. Choosing eco-friendly products, energy-efficient appliances, and sustainable building materials can reduce your carbon footprint and promote a healthier environment. Additionally, upcycling or repurposing old furniture not only saves money but also adds character and history to your redesigned space.

7. Fosters Creativity and Innovation

Engaging in the process of redesigning a room can be a highly creative endeavor. It encourages you to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to design challenges. Whether you’re tackling a DIY project or collaborating with a professional designer, the process can be incredibly fulfilling and intellectually stimulating.

8. Supports Mental and Physical Health

A well-designed room can contribute to better mental and physical health. Good design principles can ensure adequate ventilation, proper lighting, and ergonomic comfort, which can reduce the risk of health issues such as eye strain, poor posture, and respiratory problems. Moreover, a clutter-free and aesthetically pleasing environment can promote mental clarity and relaxation.

Summary:

Redesigning a room is an investment in your home and yourself. The benefits range from improved mood and productivity to increased property value and sustainability. By embracing the process of redesign, you can create a space that is not only beautiful but also functional, comfortable, and reflective of your unique style. So, whether you’re considering a minor update or a complete overhaul, remember that the journey of redesigning your room is an opportunity to enhance your quality of life and well-being.

The Journey Ahead: Your Path to a More Organized Life Starts Here, One Clinic at a Time. Whether you’re clearing out the junk drawer that’s been bothering you for months or finally organizing that pile of paperwork, each mini clinic will bring you closer to the peaceful, clutter-free space you deserve.

So, let’s get started! Commit just 10 minutes to your first clinic, and watch how these small, intentional actions can lead to big transformations. Remember, every step forward is a step toward a more serene, organized life. You’ve got this!

  1. Purse/Briefcase/Backpack

Dump the contents from your daily bag. Only add the items you use back in. Let go of the rest. If you choose a day each week, this 10-minute task will be a way to change a habit and behavior.

  1. Bathroom

Let go of old cosmetics (see this for expiry guidelines), expired prescriptions, and OTC meds (here’s how to dispose of them). Take an assessment of each drawer and cabinet. Donate to a local homeless shelter if there are unopened items (toothpaste, shampoo, soap) or similar items that you know you will never use.

  1. Hall Closet or Storage Area

I’ve never seen the inside of your hall closet, but I can guarantee there are things in there you don’t need, don’t want, and don’t even remember you have or don’t know how they got there.

  1. Pantry

If there are other things you never use, let them go and make space. Donate unexpired, unopened items to your local food bank. Create a master list of what goes where on what shelf, create something to match the theme of your kitchen, drop it in a Dollar Store frame, and hang it so everyone knows how to keep the pantry tidy.

  1. Nightstand

Make the space near where you sleep peaceful and straightforward. Having a battery-operated clock next to the bed is nice in case of power outages. Have water and a notebook with a pen/pencil to make those last-minute thoughts before dreamland.

  1. Outdoor space

Tackle balconies, porches, front yards, and backyards. Even outside clutter is clutter. If your home is on the market or will be short, curb appeal makes that first impression.

  1. Car

From the glove box to the trunk, do a deep dig of your car. You’ll probably eliminate that annoying rattling noise or solve the mystery smell in the process, too.

  1. Inbox

If your inbox has become a 2-year to-do list, start deleting it for 10 minutes at a time. Consider email bankruptcy if it’s a lost cause (select.all.delete.). If you don’t remember what emails you were saving and why . . . let them go!

  1. Thoughts

What’s swirling around up there? Write down 10 things on your mind, weighing you down, and preventing you from thinking clearly. Moving your worries from the brain to the paper will help you figure out the next step.

  1. Office

Are there things on your desk, in drawers, or hiding in a filing cabinet that you can easily let go of? Let go of the things in your office that don’t contribute to your purposeful, effective work style.

Now that you’ve let procrastination know that motivation and transformation have taken over, consider other decluttering challenges and resources to continue the momentum of moving forward to a simpler lifestyle.

The Transitions in Life

The Transitions in Life

For something new to begin, an old part of ourselves must sometimes end.

Growth often necessitates the transformation of our inner selves, a process that, while natural and vital, can be painful, confusing, or disorienting. These feelings of confusion and disorientation frequently signal an internal shift, a phenomenon common throughout human life as we progress from infancy through various stages of development. Each transition requires us to bid farewell to a former identity, the self we cultivated for that specific period.

These identities can be deeply intertwined with relationships or careers, and when an internal shift occurs, these external aspects of our lives may become unsettled. A closer examination of these surface-level changes often reveals a deeper, internal metamorphosis. For instance, we might spend a significant chapter of our lives constructing a protective shell to heal from past trauma.

However, a time may come when this very shell feels restrictive and confining, prompting a desire to move beyond the sanctuary it once provided. The growing part of ourselves cannot thrive within the boundaries of the old self’s protective structure.

The process of shedding an old self and embracing a new identity can evoke a paradoxical blend of exhilaration and sadness. We can find inspiration in observing animals that molt or shed, making way for new skin, fur, or feathers. Keeping a symbol of transformation, such as a duck feather, can serve as a potent reminder that death and rebirth are inherent to nature’s evolutionary design.

By surrendering to this process, we can release our past selves with love and gratitude, and with an open mind and heart, welcome the new, preparing for the next chapter of our lives.

Here are 5 simple rituals to help facilitate your new chapter of life:

1. Light & Let Go

  • Write down on small slips of paper the habits, regrets, or fears they want to release.
  • Place them in a bowl, safely burn them (or tear/shred them if fire isn’t an option), and say out loud: “I let this go and make space for what’s next.”
  • End by lighting a candle to symbolize illumination and fresh beginnings.

2. Threshold Walk

  • Have yourself stand in a doorway, imagining the side behind you as your past and the side in front as your future.
  • Step through slowly while affirming: “I step fully into my next chapter with courage and openness.”
  • This physical act of crossing creates a sense of transition.

3. Gratitude Release

  • At night, write down three things from the closing chapter that you are grateful for—people, lessons, or experiences.
  • Place the list in a small box or jar as a “memory capsule.”
  • This honors the past while making emotional room for new experiences.

4. Vision Seed Ritual

  • Provide yourself with flower or herb seeds. Before planting, have them speak their intentions into the soil (e.g., “I plant hope, growth, and love for this new chapter.”).
  • As the plant grows, it becomes a living reminder of their new beginnings.

5. Morning Reset Breath

  • Each morning for a week, step outside, close your eyes, and take three deep breaths:
    • Inhale: “I welcome the new.”
    • Hold: “I am present in this moment.”
    • Exhale: “I release what no longer serves me.”
  • This simple daily ritual grounds them in renewal and readiness.

Finding You Again . . .

Instead of seeing “being lost” as a failing, consider it the universe guiding you toward self-discovery.

Life’s intricate journey often leads us astray, pulling us away from our true selves. This disorientation, however, presents a unique opportunity for profound introspection and rediscovery. It is in these very moments of uncertainty, when the familiar paths dissolve and the future seems veiled, that we are compelled to delve beyond the superficial identities we often construct for ourselves.

This deep exploration allows us to unearth and reconnect with our core essence—the authentic self that lies beneath layers of societal expectations, past experiences, and learned behaviors.

Such periods of feeling lost are not deviations from the journey, but rather integral stages designed to prompt a necessary turning inward. They invite us to question our assumptions, to examine our values, and to discern what truly resonates with our spirit. Without these moments of existential questioning, we might continue to operate on autopilot, fulfilling roles and pursuing goals that do not genuinely align with our deepest aspirations. The discomfort of being adrift serves as a powerful catalyst, urging us to consciously choose a path that is more aligned with our inner truth, leading to a life lived with greater purpose, authenticity, and fulfillment.

Instead of viewing this “lost” feeling as a weakness, consider it the universe’s gentle push towards self-discovery. Much like a caterpillar transforms within its chrysalis, shedding its old form to embrace newfound freedom, losing one version of ourselves is often a necessary step to finding a truer one.

This inward journey allows us to shed accumulated facades and reconnect with our innate passions, beliefs, and capabilities.

To begin this path of self-reflection, find a quiet moment, even if only for five minutes. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Then, consider these questions:

  • What genuinely excites me and brings me joy and energy?
  • What values are most important to me right NOW and should guide my decisions?
  • If I could design my ideal day, what would it look like?

Allow your imagination to soar without judgment, simply observing the thoughts that arise. There are no right or wrong answers. This simple act of introspection can be a powerful first step in rekindling your purpose and direction.

Effective Blessings

We have the ability to inject every space we enter with positive energy, leaving a gentle and lasting impression.

Every physical space we inhabit absorbs the energy of those who pass through it. We cannot control the energy left by others, but we can influence the energetic footprint we leave behind. By blessing each space we enter, we create a subtle energy shift that benefits both ourselves and those who come after us. This act of grace, although its effects may not be immediately visible, offers comfort in knowing that we have contributed positively to the environment for others.

When you bless a room or building, you impart a powerful message of love and light for future occupants. Your blessings have a multitude of positive effects on the environment. They clear old, stagnant energy, allowing fresh, invigorating energy to flow in. This transforms the space, making it harmonious and nourishing, and a source from which positive feelings emanate.

The key to effective blessings lies in your intention. If your intent is to selflessly spread grace using your consciousness, your blessings will always be beneficial. Whether you prefer a solo blessing or seek assistance from spirit guides, visualize each space becoming free of toxins, chaos, and negativity as you speak your blessing. Then, imagine pure, healing white light and loving energy replacing the emptiness. Even a brief, mindful thought of love can bless a space.

This type of blessing is cumulative, gaining strength with each bestowal. Try blessing every home, business, and office you visit for an entire week and observe the positive effects of your goodwill. Your affirmative energy footprint will contribute to brightening your own day as you consider the future impact of your blessings on humanity and the environment.

Here are 10 simple, low-cost, and uplifting rituals you can use to bless a home or office, inviting in positivity, productivity, and a fresh energy flow:

1. Morning Light Welcome ☀️

Open windows and blinds first thing in the morning to let natural light flood in. As you do, say aloud: “This space is filled with light, clarity, and opportunity.”

2. Smudge or Scent Sweep 🌿

Burn sage, palo santo, or use essential oils (like lemon or rosemary) in a diffuser. Move clockwise around the space, pausing at corners where stagnant energy hides.

3. Salt Purification Bowl 🧂

Place a small bowl of sea salt in each main room overnight to absorb negative energy. Discard the salt outside the next morning and say: “I release what does not serve this space.”

4. Water & Citrus Mop Ritual 🍋

When cleaning floors, add a few drops of lemon essential oil or slices of lemon/orange to your mop water. Visualize wiping away old, stale energy and making room for fresh ideas.

5. Affirmation Corner 📜

Designate one wall, shelf, or desk corner to post inspiring quotes or affirmations that reflect the energy you want in the space (e.g., “I am focused, creative, and inspired here.”).

6. Crystal Charge Station 💎

Place crystals like citrine (abundance & focus) or clear quartz (clarity) in the workspace. Hold each crystal and set an intention for it to “work” for your home or office.

7. Sound Clearing 🔔

Use a bell, wind chimes, or gentle hand claps in each corner of the room to break up stagnant energy. Repeat weekly or after stressful days.

8. Fresh Flowers or Green Plants 🌱

Introduce a plant or vase of fresh flowers to boost oxygen, focus, and calm. As you place them, say: “Life flourishes here.”

9. Gratitude Moment at Entry 🚪

Each time you enter, pause for 3 seconds, take a deep breath, and silently name one thing you’re grateful for. This builds an energy “reset” at the doorway.

10. Weekly Reset Ritual 🕯️

Once a week, light a candle, sit quietly for 2 minutes, and envision the space filled with golden light. See your week ahead flowing with focus, productivity, and joy.

Many Blessings, Coach Cher

Loving Intentions . . .

How our loving intentions can transform our living space

Our homes are rarely perfect, and even if they meet our basic needs, we might still desire improvements in location, decor, or style. However, every home has the potential for beauty. By filling our homes with love, we can look beyond material factors, such as market value and design.

Our conscious, loving intentions have the power to transform our living spaces, removing negative energy and replacing it with an ethereal beauty that is felt rather than seen. Our homes can become soulful and alive spiritual dwellings. Regardless of their outward appearance, they will radiate love, making everyone, including ourselves, feel instantly welcome.

Transforming a space into a beautiful reflection of your inner warmth is as simple as projecting love into it. With sincere intentions, you can infuse your home’s walls with your energy, emotional sensitivity, and generosity of spirit, making it a haven of affection, joy, laughter, and togetherness.

You have the power to decide whether your personal spaces will be peaceful and quiet or lively and inspiring. Begin by cultivating self-awareness. This will help you view your home as an essential part of your existence, not just a place you return to at the end of the day.

Consider your relationship with each element of your space, and remember that every room can serve a purpose in your life and the lives of your loved ones. Finally, lovingly thank each room for fulfilling your needs. As you become more mindful of how your home contributes to your well-being, you will find yourself increasingly wanting to love and be loved by it.

Appearance and other superficial qualities can be misleading. An aesthetically beautiful home may still feel unwelcoming. Conversely, a home that seems ordinary in every way can be as comforting and cozy as a beloved relative or friend.

When you nurture and care for your home as if it were a loved one, it will absorb your tender intentions and project a love so profound that you will soon develop a deep affection for it.
